Dr. James Marti

James Marti has earned a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Minnesota, a Master’s degree in Atmospheric Science from the University of Arizona, and Bachelor’s degrees in Physics, Biology, and Environmental Studies from Macalester College. His doctoral and post-doctoral research dealt with the physics and physical chemistry of atmospheric particles, applied to problems of stratospheric ozone depletion and global climate change. After a position at a national research laboratory performing computer modeling of atmospheric particle dynamics, Dr. Marti moved to the private sector where he has researched the properties of particulate materials, developed new particle-based products, and managed the development of analytical instrumentation. Dr. Marti has published numerous papers in scientific journals, several articles on science and technology for the popular press, and has served as an editor for a journal of the American Geophysical Union.
